E-coat facility Investment
Plastic Coatings Ltd have been applying E-coat (or electrophoretic paint) on its Kingswinford site since 2004. In that time we have reliably supported many customers and various demanding supply chains with our excellent record for service and product quality.
In recent years we have changed some of our in process chemistry, including degreasers and phosphate solutions. These changes have enabled us to offer 1000hr salt spray resistance (2mm creep to ASTM B117) and as a result our E-coat sales have grown steadily.
Over the next few months we are making a significant investment of over £300k in our E-coat plant and equipment. This investment will further improve the aesthetics of our paint finish and will also increase reliability of the plant, whilst enabling us to continue to offer one of the most responsive E-coat services in the UK.
The investment includes…
- Multi metal treatments that will allow us to pre-treat and E-coat ferrous, non-ferrous and plated substrates.
- A new curing oven that will allow us to process components with greater thermal mass.
- A longer paint tank, giving better internal paint coverage on complex parts.
- Alterations to pipe work and pump arrangements to allow critical spares to sit ‘ready to run’ and reduce the recovery time in the case of a breakdown situation.
And from an environmental point of view…
- Energy efficient lighting throughout the manufacturing space.
- New filtering systems, including reverse osmosis demineralised water generation.
This investment allows us to continue supporting our customers with fast turn around and high quality product, while creating significant capacity for new opportunities.
